West Midland Deanery

The GP Unit of the West Midland Deanery is responsible for the support of postgraduate education and training of all doctors working in General Practice in the Region. Staffordshire General Hospital

Staffordshire General Hospital has 410 beds. It was opened in 1983 and is situated a short distance away from Stafford town centre set in 3.48 hectares of ground. It is a three-storey harness design hospital. It was extended in 1995 to provide additional accommodation for Pathology and Rehabilitation. Located in the site are the Hospital's residential accommodation, a crèche and the Post Graduate Medical Centre.

Cannock Chase Hospital

Cannock Chase Hospital is a 166 bedded partly Acute hospital set in 3.48 hectares of ground. The hospital was opened in 1991. A cornerstone of this unique hospital is its Rheumatology Unit, which is a Sub Regional Specialty. It also has a well-equipped specialist Rehabilitation service including a ward for patients following general and Orthopaedic surgery. A new day theatre and Endoscopy Suite was opened in 1997 and a new Diabetes drop-in centre and a day Rehabilitation Unit were opened in 1999.
